I was just thinking what a difficult job you have, but how well you manage to do it!  Thank you!  I know there are others who will disagree with me (some will even harp on it sometimes), it can't be easy to try and be fair to all, and if necessary, even to shut down threads.  Kudos to all the mods here!!!

I don't know what happened but I posted a response and it didn't post! Not sure, maybe I wasn't signed in? I don't know that was really weird.

I said I disagree respectfully, but I think of difficult jobs as firefighting, nursing, construction, teaching, etc. Not a shopping board moderator.

I think it sounds like more of a fun job. I wouldn't mind doing it.

As I said, no disrespect meant at all. Just sounds more fun to me than difficult.

@Ladybug724,  if you think being a board moderator is so much fun why don't you give it a try.

As they say experience is the best teacher and it is also the most eye opening.

The more I learn the more I realize how little I know.
Are you setting an example or being an example?

@Marp Your'e right! I've never done it so I really don't know. But I was just saying that to me, it sounds more fun than difficult. It's just not a job that comes to mind when I think of difficult jobs. Try nursing. That job will kick your butt!

This thread is hilarious. Considering they've been deleting some posts, it shows how untrue that really is. lol

@Krimpette We never truly know how difficult a job is until we have "walked in their shoes", so to speak.

To me, it seems like a good job as I would assume they can work from home. I do notice some posts are deleted immediately after posting where some may be on for a couple hours. I also presume there are key points/words that justify removal.

Again, my opinion only, I feel they have a baseline to go by and very little is by personal judgement. I know this is not the same but when I worked at Kaiser there were key words that we had to abide by. Meaning, if a certain word was used it determined what we were required to do.

I hope the moderators enjoy their jobs and it works for their lifestyle. I do have to agree with @Ladybug724 that there are a lot of more demanding and stressful jobs. And I also believe the mods would agree with that. But, it is very nice to give a kudos to any employee. Regardless of your job, you must be at a certain place, at a certain time, and do your job description whether you like it or not.

@Ladybug724

I believe what happened is that when you replied, you clicked on the post of the person who has no understanding of what freedom of speech means with regard to the private sector or to what she agreed to when she joined the forum. As a result of clicking on her post yours was removed as well.

@Marp

Well said Marp! I couldn't agree more. Smiley Happy

@SusieQ_2 Yep that has to be what happened-I just realized her post is gone as well. I didn't agree with what she said, I hit that reply button because i just wanted to reply to the thread, not to her.

Freedom of speech does have limitations in a private business, schools, etc. I've been having to drive this point home with my kids lately. "But mom! What about freedom of speech?" Not everywhere honey. The sooner you learn that the better.

Given the inequity that you state, why do you think people continue to post on this forum?

Great thread!  Woman Happy

I so agree.  These MODS do a wonderful job at a very very difficult, sometimes trying  task.
