My daughter is a DNP!
That's a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She is in preventative Cardiology.
She also trained in the hospital where she was born!

They won't see this, but thank you to two of my sisters-in-law. Thank you to one of my two closest friends, who met her DH one night when he filled in for a friend in the ER!
Thank you to one of DD's closest friends.
Thank you to the nurses and former nurses here on these forums!
Thank you to ALL nurses! You have a special gift from God, and you do so much for the lives you touch. I hope you know how much we all appreciate you! ![]()

Thank you for that. We do see patients at their worst. In psychiatric emergency, our patients come to us in crisis. Our job is to stabilize them, keep them safe and keep those around them safe -- 24/7.

I send a huge shout out to all the nurses out there both male and female. You guys are the back bone in hospitals. My wife was in the hospital with kidney stones a few times. I really saw how hard and how much nurses handle and it seemed you guys no alot more than doctors due. Once again THANK YOU NURSES FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.

Yes, @just bee , it's a challenge and a calling. Coincidentally, I had a simple 'ambulatory" procedure yesterday, yet I had to undergo general anesthesia. That always makes me uneasy-- I was praying hard!
After the nurse wheeled me in to the o.r., in my nervous chattering state, I wished them "Happy Nurses Week" (which I only knew about due to @smoochy 's post).
They were pleased, and he told me it was timed to commemorate Florence Nightingale's birthday. I love facts like that! They chatted and joked in that unique way that nurses do to put you at ease, and then boink, I was out and not worried about a thing, ha.
I know you are a fantastic nurse with your smarts, your sharp wit and deep empathy-- your patients are luckier than they know....

If a nurse or staff of nurses have been exceptional in their care for you, please send the hospital or office they work for a note praising them. It may help them in their performance review. I was in intensive care for a week and the nurses were part of the reason I healed so quickly. One sat up with me the night before surgery talking and assuring me that this too shall pass. Another time after a heart attack, a nurse warned me to take the morphine until my procedure, due to re-bound pain. If not for nurses, I really doubt I would be alive today.
Thank you to all the kind, caring nurses that I have encountered in my lifetime. Words cannot express how grateful I am to each and every one of you.❤️

I've been hospitalized several times. One time for 2 1/2 months. All the nurses were wonderful. When I was finally able to go home those sweet nurses gave me a cake and a celebration. Can you believe that?
Nurses work so hard! I love and admire them.
