@deepwaterdotter All gave some, some gave all.  My stepfather would whistle real loud and shrill in his sleep sometimes.  When we woke him up, he would say that is how they communicated in the fox holes so they would know where each other was at.  He served for 18 years as a Marine and is now serving beside the Lord in heaven.  SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!  All vets deserve our respect every DAY.

your kind words brought tears to my eyes....he was a pilot in the air force....just like his dad....but his dad died in a military plane crash when my husband was 9.....so he wasn't able to see his son follow in his footsteps....a few years ago my husband went to the crash site and left a plaque....the crash was in 1956...and there were still pieces of the plane there....such an emotional trip........

Am proud of my many generations of family Veterans including Arm and Navy Nurses  . It breaks my heart to see so many homeless Veterans living on the streets .

Thank you. My son is career military and has been deployed 4 times so far. He lost 12 friends and one of his own soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and it has been so hard on him.
