That makes sense, Sunshine. My situation is not at all like yours, which is why I don't have that need. Smiley Happy

Maybe only about 10 a year if I want to forward a picture. No other reason to. If I want to tell someone something, I call them or even email them.

I text a ton, but it's mostly work related........but my phone allows me to speak the text, I don't have to "type" it out.........makes it easy and fast.......................raven

Smartphones are way too expensive, for something I have no use for. I want a phone I can use to call the AAA man in an emergency, not one I can check movie showtimes on.

ITA. That's why I have prepaid.

I only text my DH and kids if I need to tell them something. I would guess I send about 20 - 40 texts a month. Probably not even that many.

I average around 500 texts per month; I love texting. I spent 16 years as a switchboard operator---I hate talking on the phone!

I text several times a day. It's quicker than an email.

Couple thousand. I commute for my job and keep in contact with the kids and hubby..also a quick text..what do you want for dinner..I am going to be late..I am leaving etc..same with checking on the grandson..how is he.etc.... I also have three sisters who live out of town and out of state..and we communicate daily via text...

My sisters and I touch base usually in the mornings..etc.

I find texting a great way to communicate for those out of town/state.

If it isn't for others that is up to them..but I love the option to be able to do that.

When in the grocery store I love the option to send a text asking if we need anything else..do they want this or that..

I am not for carrying on LOUD conversations while grocery shopping oblivious to the world around you.

There are also a lot of other distractions while driving too..so while it is one it is not the only one.

Many new cars today have the capability to answer/send calls via the bluetooth in the cars.

I have voice to text activation and I love it. I just talk into the phone and it converts it to a text message. Though gotta proof read though as sometimes it converts to the funniest things.
