Re: Temporary, I hope, Color Blindness

I've been partially color blind my whole life.  I have trouble distinguishing greens/browns and blues/purples.

Re: Temporary, I hope, Color Blindness

Navy and black are okay together, as others have said here. Also, these are two tricky colors to discern sometimes. I have trouble when I sew, making sure I have the correct color thread with navy and black. I really have to look closely in bright light to be sure.

I wonder why the OP's friend would even ask such a question. I think it was rude.

@jlkz

You gave me some great answers, the part about the cataract

really helped me.  I understand the light at home, but being outside, and not noticing really upset me.  When my mother was alive I labeled her clothes.  Now it is my turn.

Some navys are so dark they appear to be black.

I definitely prefer the ones that are true blue in tone.

I find the best light by the window, if that helps any.

Yes it has happened to me!!  I used to navy and black shoes in the same style.  Two times I went running out with one black shoe, one navy shoe.  LOL!  Wasn't til I was outside walking around did I notice.  Okay, since we are fessing up, I went out last year with 2 different sandles  Hahaha

I am definitely a female and I am color blind. I did not know until I took a test for a job. The problem is with light colors - the same as my father.

If you are concerned you should go see an eye doctor. Once I left for work with two different shoes on. One black, one navy. Just laughed it off along with everyone else. Worked all day like that.

Do schedule an appointment with an opthamologist.

Before my cataract surgery I had trouble telling the colors of some cars. Now  all is good.

My sister was very color blind all her life.

Re: Temporary, I hope, Color Blindness

This thread reminds me of a 'debate' about a dress.

Some see white and gold. Others see blue and black. There's no middle ground. The Great Dress Debate of 2015 began when a woman posted a picture of the polarizing garment to Tumblr and asked for help in identifying its colors.Feb 27, 2015
