From what I understand, these 'telemarketers' have found a loop hole around the 'do not call list'. They work for themselves and it's not actually the charity directly speaking to you. I've read that 98% of your donation goes to the telemarketers and not the charity. I've read that it is dangerous to give out your credit card information over the phone because you don't know actually who you are giving that information to ! I prefer to donate in another manner. I am so tired of these people calling me! What can I do to prevent this from happening? Thank you. By the way, I have never donated 'over the phone' in the past either.
