Normally I would agree that it's no ones business when you become an adult. But, if your folks are supporting you in any way, shape or form then yes it does become a roundtable discussion. If the adult child doesn't like that, then the obvious answer is to be self sufficient. No one, especially mom and dad want to pay for illegitimate kids. Yes, I know that after they're born hearts melt (and so does money socked away for retirement).

That said, any anthropologist would tell you that having relations is hardwired into a species for survival of the group.
Most people have sex because it is enjoyable and because some are young enough to have raging hormones.
Humans have reasoning ability which animals do not so the hardwiring is just riduculous. The urge might be there but not a necessisty like with animals!! I worked with teens for years and found they did have the ability to abstain but chose not to because they thought everyone else was doing it. I was often told by female teens that they had to do it to keep their boyfriends even though they didn't find it enjoybable (with inexperienced teen boys who were 2 minute wonders). I often told them that if it didn't feel like the right thing then don't do it just to keep a boyfriend and surprisingly enough most took my advice and have thanked me for it on numerous occasions. If it's a foregone conclusion that the "hardwiring" will take precidence and teens have no control over their own bodies then parents should be teaching their kids how to have enjoyable relations!!
