Ted Turner died today at 87. What an amazing life. His influence on Atlanta will not be forgotten.

I read the news about 5 minutes before coming here. What a powerhouse he was in my beloved city of Atlanta. I actually got a little choked up when I saw the news. He could be outrageous and he was fabulous. Terrific businessman and visionary.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

May his entrepreneurial American spirit live on in others.

I read part of his lengthy bio in the NY Times.  He did live quite a life.  RIP!

I wonder what will happen with TCM and if it will keep its commercial free format.

He had 5 children. One of his daughters became as passionate as he was about environmental issues. He was a titan.

We used to frequent Ted's Montana Grill until the one near us closed. The food was good and we always enjoyed it. Just one of his many ventures.

He is (was) one of the largest private landowners in the U.S. and also owns the largest private bison herd, too.

He owned the Atlanta Hawks for 5 years also. And founded CNN. The list of his accomplishments goes on and on.

So sorry to hear this. He has had a tremendous impact on everyone, however. I call that a rich, well lived life. I really liked him.
