I've used the Jergens lotion.  It was called Glow something, I think, but not sure.  It does work, but you have to keep up with it or it will fade.  Also, it's better to be patient.  I layered too quickly and got splotchy.  Also, whatever you use, be sure to exfoliate real well first or you could get splotchy from that too.  Right now I'm feeling a little tempted to try the Josie Maran tanning oil with the glove.  I've read the glove isn't so great, but the product gives a nice result.

I agree with what you said about Jergens.

@sophiamarie If you try it I'd start with the lightest one to see if it works for you.

I tried the lotion and when it wore off it left patches rather than fading naturally plus I didn't like the scent.

I've used L'Oreal towelettes for years and like them very much.

Thanks for all the feedback ladies.  I'm still on the fence.  Imagine, I live in Florida and have to get a phony tan because I already had skin cancer and don't want to go through that again.

I am not fair-complexioned - more on the medium/olive side.  I read some of the reviews and they all got the "dark bronze" - even those with fair complexions.  Maybe someone at Walgreens or wherever, will tell me what my color is.

Again, thanks - and I'll let you know if/what I get.  I was also thinking about those tan towels that I used to see on the H - Toni Bratton???  Boy, that had to be more than 20 years ago......I would use those in a heartbeat if they really worked like they say.

Re: Tan anyone?

[ Edited ]

@sophiamarie I just did a Google search to see if Toni Brattin still made the mousse of yesteryear. Sadly she doesn't. But her website shows a gel instead. I used her foam many years ago and loved it. Haven't used her gel, tho. Good luck in your search!

also,I've used the tan towels from H but I get better color from L'Oreal.

I use this everyday and have for years! Great stuff. Get the med/dark formula for best results. NO stink at all! The foam makes it so easy to apply and you get a beautiful glow! I use it all over.... even on my face and I constantly get "where did you go to get  get that great tan?". This is the best I've ever found...and I tried them ALL!

I live at the beach and still use self tanner all over.

It's in the 70s today so I did a *tan* last night.

I use Suzanne Organics Healthy Glow which is a hint of color, I use Suzanne Organics Self Tanner for the hotter months.

What I love the most (besides not containing any toxic chemicals) is the color they give me.

The Body Glow is not messy, it's a white cream that you put on as moisturizer.  I wear gloves.  Never any streaking.  I do it at night and wear long sleeved cotton PJs.  Next morning I shower and have a really nice color.

The self tanner is a dark serum and it will transfer, so long sleeved pajamas again.  Shower in the morning and a gorgeous color.  Not orange at all although I'm fair skinned and it takes well on me.

Not going to lie, sometimes there is an off scent, but I get in the shower first thing in the morning.  Never anything *off* after that shower!

I  always spoke to my students about tanning.  They'd ask me how I had a "nice color" if I didn't "tan".

I brought a tube of Jergens Glow and showed them!  (the foam is newer).  You do need rubber gloves though.  They're about $6.00/100 a box at Walmart!

If I used them two nights in a row, I'd just drape them over my trash can.

I did have to use rubber bands around my wrist though, the small kept slipping off when I rubbed!
