I know retailers like to get out there early on upcoming products.  That said, I was a bit taken back when I checked out Marshall's new arrivals for today and their focus was on Halloween.

The children in my area have another week of school left.

I have no doubt Christmas offerings will be arriving soon.

Anything to get our dollars.  Wonder if the candy canes will be for sale by July 4th?

@Mersha

Here's the thing .....   if retailers get shipments from vendors, there is no reason whatsoever to let it sit in their warehouses until the holiday is closer.  Ship it off to the stores as soon as possible because some people actually like to buy things in advance .... they get to pick the best stuff from the selections before anyone else is even thinking about that holiday.

Merchandise just sitting in a dark store room makes no sense ... put it out on the sales floor!

Re: Talk About Rushing Seasons

I recently heard that many late winter/early spring delayed shipments are arriving in retail stores (yes, they get them late just as QVC does) resulting in some really good sale prices.

Maybe the new Halloween arrival at Marshalls was a delay meant for Halloween 2021.  Ha ha!

@deepwaterdotter   That makes perfect sense...if there is Christmas in July, Halloween & Thanksgiving should be in June. Smiley Happy

@Kachina624  I did not think of that but your theory is probably correct.

@Tinkrbl44  You make a good point from a marketing view.

things have changed and the unknown continues.

if u need something....GET IT

if u see something for future holiday, event, gift.....GET IT

you may not be able to find it when u exactly need it  AND/OR  the price is higher

yes of course if product floods in, they may have to reduce price to move it along.  you can then take advantage of the savings for forward needs.

i have always been ahead on everything.   i am even more so now.
