Been having an email conversation with my brother today about old times (and I mean OLD).  He told me the Hackensack roller rink was torn down.  Then I told him my sister and I didn't go there, we went to the Paramus roller rink on Route 17.  Then he told me the building is still there, but it's now a retail store!

Mwhah!!   A stupid store?!  Mwhah!! 

No organ music?  No couples only?  No trios?  No trying to learn how to "twirl?"  Gee, it was only 65 years ago!!

Oh, and I forgot to say, girls had to wear short skating skirts and guys had to wear slacks and shirts.  No "dungarees" allowed!!

I would LOVE to go skating again...Wish there was an adult skate time where I live.......I loved it as a kid.

Loved roller skating ... we used to skate every Friday night at our grammar school ... nothing like sailing down the halls on the first floor to "proper" music in those days!

My BFF and I used to go skating every weekend back in the day.  We had so much fun.  That building has also been turned into something else.  I think a Laundry Company bought it.  The only other roller rink was turned into a reception hall.  My friend was trying to relive her youth and took her kids ice skating.  Fell and broke her elbow and spent the night in the hospital.
