TWELVE COMMANDMENTS FOR SENIORS

  1. Talk to yourself. There are times you need expert advice.
  2. “In Style” are the clothes that still fit.
  3. You don’t need anger management. You need people to stop making you mad.
  4. Your people skills are just fine. It’s your tolerance for idiots that needs work.
  5. The biggest lie you tell yourself is, ” I don’t need to write that down. I’ll remember it.
  6. “On time” is when you get there.
  7. Even duct tape can’t fix stupid – but it sure does muffle the sound.
  8. It would be wonderful if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes, then come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller?
  9. Lately, you’ve noticed people your age are so much older than you.
  10. Growing old should have taken longer.
  11. Aging has slowed you down, but it hasn’t shut you up.
  12. You still haven’t learned to act your age, and hope you never will.

And one more: “One for the road” means going to the bathroom before you leave the house.

These are great, if we lose the ability to laugh at ourselves we are in big trouble.

Cute, but 3 and 6 don't apply to me!

I'm rarely angry and I haven't been late for/to anything in at least 20 years!

Thank you for the laugh! I just read those to my sister and we both appreciated (and related) to them!

Wow, except for #6 (I'm always ALWAYS on time for a commitment), I can relate to every single one of those.

Right off the bat I thought 'oh good, I talk to myself all day long every day'.  Sometimes I wonder if that's messed up, but why not?   I'm alone 99% of the time (totally NOT complaining!) and talking to myself a lot just became natural.   At least I know the person to whom I am talking is listening.   Smiley Happy

Number 9 reminds me of the wife of DH's then boss, decades ago, they were in their late sixties, probably in their seventies, I was in my thirties, and we were outside with fireworks during my 4th of July party, and she said to me, " We used to entertain like this, but our friends got old," couldn't laugh then, but every time I remember this it makes me laugh.
