Re: TSV California Innovation

[ Edited ]

I purchased three of the Americana sets. I plan to use them to give to some coworkers. Anyone can use the totes, so I know that they will be welcomed.

@World Traveler@I agree that they are handy for everyone.I gave one from last years set with a baby gift inside.I also bought a cute garden spinner from dollar tree to match and tucked it in the bag.The bright cheerful spinner made the bag look adorable and the new mom loved it.I like the no waste wrapping.

Re: TSV California Innovation

@dex-- I have the Americana set on check hold.  This will give me time to step away from the computer and TV in order to come to my senses.  Hopefully I can get away long enough to escape the 'mind control' and save $30 bucks!

This strategy has worked for me in the past.  OH NO -- Dooney clearance bags are on now -- gotta go!!!!!

Re: TSV California Innovation

@Snoopp  I bought the California Innovations insulated totes offered last year and They are very nice.  I have purchased the insulated bags from my grocers and in my opinion the California Innovations totes exceed them in performance.  I feel they absolutely keep things colder or warmer for an extended period of time that allows you to get from point of packing the bag to where you are heading to.  (Using a cyropack) I have managed to get frozen items home from the store in the frozen state and this includes some times when I have made addtional stops after packing the cold items.  I have the same ositive experience getting from point A to B with hot things in the California Innovations bag.  I have bought crry out hot food from restaurants and strolled around for an hour before getting home and the food is still steaming hot when taken out of the bag.

@VeneziaThey are pointing out that the 2018 bags are larger than the ones in gift sets previously sold by QVC.

I bought a set of Americana this year and plan to use them as gifts.  Considering the floral for myself.  I use the bags even if I'm not utilizing the insulation factor. They are quite durable and can be washed (wiped off inside and out).

Re: TSV California Innovation

I ordered the Americana set.

I will say, that in the world of insulated bags, these aren't the best.

Like others mentioned California Innovations has the foam padding ones now, and those are superior to these for sure.

I bought a big CI bag from I think Sam's Club a decade ago and it is made much better than what they bring to Q, but it certainly isn't pretty.

Sachi bags were superior in my opinion back in the day whey they had them here at Q. I find them to hold cold foods longer than these from Q. I really wish they'd bring back Sachi and in the same quality as before.

Rachael Ray bags are better quality than these too.

But I often just need to keep things cold for an hour or so to get home, and these will be just fine, and the are a different size and footprint of any others I have, so we'll see.

I wish they would have brought these with the foam inside like their last big offering. My mom got those and they are super quality. It would have been worth the extra expense. But then they wouldn't fold up as compact as these will either.

I prefer bags that will fold down and secure with a snap, into a nice wallet sized unit, and these appear to do so.

I like the Americana and the solids best, then the geometric. Not a huge fan of the floral.

But if you gave any one of them, I'd be pleased as punch!

@Mominohio- Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these bags.  You've helped me make the decision not to buy.  I have the RR bags and I love them.  The quality is outstanding! I really appreciate your detailed review Smiley Surprised)

I have two of Rachel Ray's bags that I use all the time.  They are very sturdy and well-made.  And I have the Lock & Lock bag which is also well made.  Today's TSV doesn't look as 'hefty' as Rachel's version so I won't be buying (plus, I don't need any more bags).  They are cute though, I espescially like the Americana set.  They look fine for every-day trips to the market.

As I'm typing this post I'm also watching the presentation.  I'll probably change my mind and buy the Americana set.  What's wrong with me?!!!!  What kind of Jedi mind tricks do they use???

@Beauty Maven

It's a racket, I tell ya! LOL

I don't need another single insulated bag either, but I had to have the Americana set. They got me with the design, then the fact the fold down to wallet size.

I'm weak.  My Q card balance proves it.
