TSA Allowable Items: Flying to Funeral Monday A.M.

Hi Everyone,

I've visited the TSA site and studied the list of prohibited items, but could not find what I was looking for, so think that maybe I'll be OK. However, I'm not all that sure and would appreciate your help.

I'd like to bring along a knit or crochet project, but don't know if the knitting needles or crochet hook will be allowed. Any experienced travelers out there in the know?

Many thanks in advance.

Watch out Michigan, here I come.

Re: TSA Allowable Items: Flying to Funeral Monday A.M.

when I saw the title, I remember a few years ago when we took Mom and Dad's ashes back to Arlington for burial- we went through the TSA checkpoint, explained what we had and we were able to take them on the plane with us... strangest carry-on ever...

Knitting needles, in your hands would not be dangerous, but I have a hard time wanting them to be ok for those who might misuse them, so I would say "no" they are probably not allowed..

Knitting needles are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage.

Items needed are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage with the exception of circular thread cutters or any cutter with a blade contained inside which cannot go through the checkpoint and must go in your checked baggage.

Thank you so very much. I'm going to cut and paste this to Word, then print and have available in my bag.

Perfect!

Thanks to all.
