I love the southern movies-Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Places of the Heart (Sally Fields), Also love the period movies- Pride and Prejudice, & the most recent Jane Eyre. Don't ask me why, but I also love all the Twilight movies. Yep, all. This is TV, but also love The Thorn Birds. The movie that made the most impact on me was The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

My top three are Young Frankenstein, The Birdcage, and tied for third are Room with a View (glad to see others loved it too) and Amélie, that lovely and quirky French love story.

I agree with you on :

Fried Green Tomatoes

Driving Miss Daisy

I guess my 3rd favorite would be Trip to Bountiful

It is funny, but I think you can tell much about a person from the movies they choose.

All listed are great films. I'll add MASK (with Cher), Lonesome Dove (miniseries) and Cool Hand Luke ... Though to pick just 3 absolute favorites is too hard!

I've already chosen 3 but would like to add 3 more:

Places in the Heart (with Sally Field)

Moonstruck (with Cher)

The Year of Living Dangerously (with Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver)

Oh yeah! Mask was a great movie. I've always loved Cher, but she is really an outstanding actor in addition to her musical abilities. She was so great in this movie, and one of my favs mentioned, Silkwood. I even think she was really excellent in Mermaids. Of course, she won an Academy Award for Moonstruck, but I think she was every bit as good in the other three mentioned, as well as other movies.
