Older generations aka the silent generation and baby boomers aren't their prime target audience. These companies and their marketing are geared toward younger generations who are very responsive to social campaigns.

@esmerelda no one should have been held like George Floyd who was murdered by police.  This should never happen again to anybody, anywhere on this earth and I will work with anyone who wants to  make sure.  Despicable.  But I do not like the messages that invade my space unless I ask for an opinionl  And the message should be all inclusive.

@tobes  ITA. There are people who are just mean and I don't know how that is changed. It's supposed to start at home, but more and more "home" isn't what it once was.  And that is sad.

@stevieb  But does it really help business?  I think not.

edited because 🙄

@esmerelda @stevieb I think they think it is super and helpful for them because they've never met anyone outside the executive suite or talked to anyone outside the boatdroom or the waiter at a business lunch.

No one has a backbone in this country anymore. It's almost like giving "protection" money.

I’ve gotten a lot of the same emails and unsubscribe.

I was sad to see a youtuber I occasionally watch get a lot of ‘shaming’ because she did not address current events during a recent live stream.  Many comments said she should be using her platform to inform, support, etc etc., and because she didn’t, some  were unsubscribing and a lot of people gave her downvotes.

@noodleann  Agree with much of what you said. I had the same spice experience.

Probably some validity to that, but then the younger generations don't always hold the purse strings or have quite the same level of disposable income... One wonders if their marketing departments ever considered that...

@esmerelda... Exactly... The oh so righteous are only righteous if you fall in line...

@esmerelda

All I want from a company that I use to buy products are: a good product/warranty when needed/a fair price, and they meet their delivery dates.

What and who they support is irrelevant to me. If I don't ask for that information I don't want any correspondence from them on those topics. A product? Yes. Their views? No.
