Have you ever heard of Caterina's Club?

Chef Bruno Serato, who owns a beautiful Italian restaurant in southern California called The White House is truly a hero and a remarkable man.

In 2005, he and his mother visited a Boys and Girls Club down the street from his restaurant. His mom noticed a young boy eating a bag of potato chips for his dinner. She asked him why, and he told her that he and his family lived in a nearby motel that didn't have a kitchen, so they were never able to eat a hot meal.

Caterina told her son to bring the children at the club some pasta from his restaurant.

He did.

And Caterina's Club was created.

Chef Bruno has fed hungry children every day since then. He has served over 11 million meals to poverty-stricken children! He and his staff prepare, deliver, and serve over 5,000 meals per day because he is devoted to the notion that no child should ever go to bed hungry. 

In 2011, CNN awarded him with a Hero of the Year Award. This week, a local California radio statio, KFI640, just hosted a day of giving for Caterina's club and their listeners donated pasta, sauce, and money to help Chef Bruno and his charity. In one day, they raised over $1.1 million dollars and over 92,000 pounds of dry pasta. 

It is so remarkable to me how one person's kindness can spread ripples so wide.

He is a magnificent human being.
