Because if the husband and wife planned this, and my gut is saying that they probably did, then any conversations that they had with each other, can not be used in court.
I still think they killed the baby for his life insurance policy to pay off any and/or all debts that they may have.

Investigators say the mother of a 22 month old who died after being left in a hot vehicle admitted she researched how long it would take for a child to die after being left in a car just days before the incident happened.
Leanna Harris told authorities she only looked into the subject because she was afraid it could happen one day.
I found this from another board.

That is ludicrous!!! No mother worries over things like that unless the child had previously been left in a car unattended!!!!!!!!

everyone in our country should have the right to a fair trial but i feel that the jury pool is greatly tainted by 24/7 media coverage, both online and on television.
they could both be guilty as sin or not, which is why i like to wait before forming an opinion either way. apparently, i'm in the minority. lol
No, you're not in the minority! And you are correct: not all of the evidence is in or has been presented to the public. But people jump to conclusions when playing armchair detective. I like to throw out theories and comb through the information the media releases trying to find discrepancies, but it doesn't really mean much if the media's information is incomplete or inaccurate (which is oftentimes is). I have to remind myself of that if I'm getting too involved or carried away!

BINGO.
It could have happened before.
I wonder if Sunny Hostin did the same thing after both she AND her husband left their child in the car. I find that very disturbing that neither one of them had their head together enough to remember their kid in the car when they went shopping.

The searches on there computer are telling..... but, leaving a child in a steaming hot car the police are saying for seven hours! OMG! I bet he remembered his cell phone when he got out of the car
And the fact that he went back to his car that afternoon to get something out of it during this time and did not see his baby in the car ...... His story is falling apart big time!

I heard her tell this story .... I do not care what she said ,this could have been a accident? I think not. In Sunny case yes, but, not in this case with little cooper.

I pray that little boy died quickly! Since hearing that both parents were researching this incident, he is in a better place where no one can ever hurt him again! I hope they prosecute both parents! He is safe with the Lord! This is so upsetting!

The HLN newscasters reported that the parents were said to be good tenants and they paid there rent on time. They were well liked by all who knew them. And the police also reported to HLN that they had no debts to speak of.

IMO, the obit is weird:
MARIETTA, Ga. | Cooper Mills Harris, age 22 months, of Marietta, Ga., died June 18, 2014 in Marietta. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at University Church of Christ with David Eldridge officiating. A private family burial will follow with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation with the body lying in state will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Survivors include his parents, Justin Ross Harris and Leanna Taylor Harris of Marietta, Ga.; grandparents, Evelyn and Reggie Harris of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Debra Smith Taylor of Northport, Ala., and Dock and Dona Taylor of Fosters, Ala.; aunts and uncles, Amy and Michael Baygents of Northport, Ala., and Jenna Taylor of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Cooper was born on August 2, 2012, to the most proud parents there could have ever been. He was loved and cherished and protected by both parents and all family members for his short 22 months of life. He was a happy baby. He loved to speak with anyone and made impacts on many people's lives in his short time. Cooper loved trucks and cars and often told them bye as we left parking lots. He had just learned the color red and as we passed red vehicles, he would tell his mommy and his daddy "bye red car, bye red truck." He was a joy and will always be cherished. His 22 months of life were the most happy and fulfilling times of his mother's and father's lives, and we will miss him greatly. The family rejoices in the fact that we know that our Cooper is in the arms of Jesus fully restored, protected and in perfect peace.
Pallbearers will be Michael Baygents, James Jones, Billy Kirkpatrick, and Michael Simmons
The family would like to express their sincerest thank you to those who have supported them during this tragic time. The outpouring of love has been tremendously overwhelming in the best way possible. Specifically we would like to thank any individuals who have chosen to support our family whether it has been financial or spreading the word of support and prayers for the loss of our sweet Cooper. Others that have been tremendously vital in our grieving process have been Stonebridge Church of Marietta, GA, Capstone Church of Tuscaloosa, AL, Home Depot/Homer Fund, Davita teammates, and Little Apron Academy staff and parents. We are forever indebted to your love and support for our family. The Lord sent you very special people to us and we are praising God in this storm. We love each and every one of you.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to give back to a very special fund that has chosen to support us during this tragic time. Please make donations to the Homer Fund. Checks can be made payable to the Homer Fund and mailed directly to 2455 Paces Ferry Road Building C17 Atlanta, GA 30339. Payments can also be made via www.thdhomerfund.org by paypal account. -
