Today it is 60 but on Saturday it will be low 30's which will help kill germs.  This is for the Chicagoland area.  Stay safe.

Re: THANKFUL FOR COLD WEATHER

@Katcat1  We are Up North and getting a rain/snow mix. I am Thankful I live in  rural area and many places are still open and operating. I own an acre and a half and neighbors are not on top of each other. Some times I don't talk to anyone face to face for weeks.

If cold were all it took to be in a safer place, I'd be out of Florida already!

Nope, I'm hoping the nicer weather comes soon. We can all open our windows and get ourselves outside and rid ourselves of all of these nasty germs.

@Gorgf I totally beg to differ!! I live in a very rural area in upper Michigan and we are all closed down! Nothing is open here! Restaurants are only open for curbside delivery. Why on earth tempt fate?? Living rural doesn't at all me that we should let down our guard. Wow.

Re: THANKFUL FOR COLD WEATHER

Cold weather makes people go indoors where other people are...not exactly what we need right now.

Send it here.  In the Southeast we've been warming up.  Most days in the 70's and today may be close to 80.  It's been like this for nearly 2 weeks.  We're already seeing mosquitos everywhere!

Re: THANKFUL FOR COLD WEATHER

Cold and even freezing temperatures do not kill bacteria or viruses.  It can put them into hibernation only to wake up when they are warmer.

I prefer warmer weather. I have had enough of winter.

Re: THANKFUL FOR COLD WEATHER

How does cold weather kill viruses?  I thought warm weather did which is why the flu is more rampant when it is colder?
