This morning I was awoken with my phone ringing and the sounds of Fire Trucks pulling up in front of my house.

On the phone was my Daughter in law. I couldn't understand what she was saying, she was crying so hard. I told her I wound be right over.

About 10 years ago our son, wife and my 2 grandchildren

bought the house across the street from us.it has been the greatest blessing for us.

About the same time QVC was selling a CO2 Alert Monitor. I think it was Rachael hosting. I bought one for them and us.

Well this morning their  CO2 Alert Monitor  went off. She called 911 and within minutes the Fire Department was there. They said the Monitor went off exactly at the right time before there was any harm done to them. It was a crack in the Furnace  possibly caused from the Earthquake and the aftershocks .

Again all I can say is THANK YOU QVC. You saved lives.

@sweetee2

THANK GOODNESS - I'm glad all are safe, your story misted me up and gave me goose bumps....

Just goes to show you, FASHION and FOOD are one thing the Q does well - but the Q selling SAFETY - in this case was all you really needed.

Thank goodness the family is safe.

@sweetee2

YOU saved lives by the action you took on behalf of your family.  QVC was the conduit: it offered and you partook !

Thank goodness all are safe !

Although mine were not purchased from QVC, it was Pat's story from long ago that made me more aware.  Building/resale codes have come a long way since.  If your house is older they can still be added.

You cannot sell a house in RI without carbon monoxide monitors along with fire alarms.

Our condo has both in one.
