Anyone have issues with them? It's good news for me I will become credit card free now as I won't deal with them and they control some actcts that my husband  and now only me have had for years. Good news I will be mostly debt free.

I lasted about 2 months with them and closed the account.  I was flabbergasted to see the number and names of big stores whose accounts they handle, must have been about 200 of them.  They seem to have only lasted a short time with Walmart, however.

I personally don't have any issues with Synchrony Bank, but something doesn't sit right with me that Synchrony and Comentity manage a high percentage of the so-called "store" credit cards.  The retailers must be getting some kind of sweet deal from them.  I know they don't have to pay the "processing" fees that are charged to them when a customer uses a Visa and Mastercard from their personal or a bank like Capital One, or an American Express. When a customer pays using the Synchrony or Comenity store credit card, they don't pay that transaction processing fee.  That amounts to a lot of money staying home for retailers processing hundreds to thousands of transactions per day.

I never had any problems with them but I have read other horror stories on youtube. The furniture company  I got the account threw has gone out of  business and Synchrony keeps sending me information about other companies using their card but I'm not biting. I paid off my balance, I'm done with them.

I think Synchrony still issues both Walmart and Sams Club cards.

ETA: My main issue with them may seem strange. They are too quick too freeze my account if they see a charge that they deem "unusual". I know they are trying to protect against fraud but it has caused me no end of problems when I try to use the card while on vacation. So much so that I use it only at Sam's Club now.

Big Time !!!

It started when SteinMart went out of business.  Their card was issued by Synchrony and because it was useless, the bank issued me a new stand alone Synchrony card.

I finally started to use after a month and because there was 2% cashback set up, I decided to use it solely.  Well, 5 months later the card is declined at my hairdresser's....never had that happen!  Turns out, they never sent me a bill !!!

The first time I get a new card or new vendor bill, I add it to my anticipated bills list for either the 1st or 15th of each month: no bill, no update.  And since I handle so many accounts for different properties, I never noticed.  Took me about half an hour to work with Customer Service to get the account straightened, late fees removed, interest charges removed, and credit rewards applied.

Went immediately to post office to send the check to address quoted.  Thought all was well until card got declined again...for really no reason.  Had enough, cancelled the card and sent a check for $200 for items charged and not yet billed.

Synchrony has real problems....I wasn't the only person to not get a bill.  They had my address: they sent me the credit card !  Don't they talk to each other ?  Where is the project manager for the SteinMart customer transition ???

I have never had an issue with them.  In reality, I don't really use store CC's often.  In the past year, several of my cards were cancelled because of non use.

I think I still have two accounts with them that are still open.  I have no plans to use the cards anytime soon.  I guess they will be closed for non use in time as well.

I really hate to use store CC's.  It is such a pain to have to pay multiple bills every month.  I have the money, so I keep asking myself, "why not just pay upfront and be done with it?"

I use my debit card a lot in person and mostly PayPal when a retailer will take it on line.
