You know, if you go to Amazon, and look up reviews on the Masterbuilt electronic digital smoker- you will find so many that have had terrible experiences, either they didn't work from the git-go, or they worked for 6 mo or a year and then the electronic panel goes out and its not replaceable- so they had to either buy a new one or just trash the old one....So many recounting horrible customer Service experiences from that company-

In lots of cases, people who originally wrote a glowing review, went back a year later to complain about their non working "disposable" smokers...I mean there are hundreds of complaints..

When you read the reviews on the Q...nothing.... Like they use it once and proclaim it the greatest thing since sliced bread.... ( I DO admit to loving mine when it worked) These reviews are so easily manipulated anyway.....

You posted a question I was going to ask. I wondered why so many brand new TSV's have a couple of really positive reviews. It does make me wonder.

I ordered a Keurig that is a regular item on the Q but ordered it when it became a TSV. I read the reviews first to make sure the product was worth me ordering it. The Q does this with a lot of their products.

I only order Adrienne's beaty item when they are HSN"s today's special, same with Joy Mangano's huggleable hangers, because they often throw in bonuses.

Once you post a review on the Q you cannot go back and a mend it. If the Q customer purchasers had later problems they had no way of reporting it. Very convenient for QVC.

Well, you can always tell when the product isn't a good one at all when they never show the old, "Customer Top Rated" logo when presenting a specific product. That certainly tells alot.

I've seen products presented as "Customer Top Rated" and when you look at the reviews, they are average 2-3 stars{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

When I read reviews, I sort them by low to high first and read the complaints. Then I go forward to the positive ones.

Very true. For example, a B Mak bag of mine a year after I purchased it had some of its dye come off when I was trying to gently clean it with a damp cloth. It had gotten dirty in a couple places.

Had another problem with the NuFace device. After about 6 mo it wouldn't charge but a friend has one so I asked to borrow her cord and that was it. My cord was no longer working. Then, I had a dreadful experience with the NuFace people when trying to get it replaced....they insisted that mine wouldn't charge because I didn't have it seated correctly in the cradle. Really ridiculous on their part and then finally after agreeing to ship a new cord, shipped to another State 1000 miles away... no kidding. Also, they placed my cell phone number on the shipping label which UPS called asking where I lived and rerouting it.

You are asked now when placing a review if you purchased the product or received it as a gift. Yes or No on a drop down box. So far mine have been YES so I have no idea what the review looks like if you say no.

Eta: Forgot to say, the TSV's are sold in advance in many instances through the Insider Subscriptions and so yes, those early reviews are legit.
