Cater, that's kinda part of the reason I wanted to post this photo, as I'm sure many thought I was a bent over little old lady in a wheelchair because of my health issues and my age. Even though I do have to use a wheelchair at times when I've broken another vertebrae, I did want to counter that image someday and so I posted this photo, knowing it would not go over well with everyone. Thanks for your kind words.

Ford, I love your hair. I have long hair too at age 63. It's healthy and in very good condition and I get compliments all the time as I bet you do too. I'm still a brunette with only a little gray. I say if you have hair that is in good shape,wear it long if you like it. You have given me permission to keep wearing mine long through my 70's!

How do you two ladies keep your hair in good condition? I'm in between your ages and have hair the color of Ford's. I'm trying to let it grow longer but my ends keep getting "whispy".

What are your secrets?

_naes, you didn't miss my birthday . . . it is this Saturday, the 17th! Why I celebrated a week early is because my second daughter's birthday is the 6th. We have so many birthdays in the first quarter of the year that we combine four of them. My daughter and I always celebrate our birthdays in the weekend between the two of them. So hers is a little late and mine is a little early, LOL!

Oh yes, now I do remember that photo, it's the one I use as my user id on a different forum (we all post our photos there). However I do use a different username, not ford1224. That BB is pretty much limited to our illnesses, mostly RA and osteoporosis. I only post there a few times a week, it is not an every day thing as it is here. Everyone over there is really, really sick, and it's a whole different atmosphere.

Anyway, thank you for your birthday wishes!!

Yes, I never would have thought of it. I have told her how much everyone likes it and she is pleased about that. Also told her how much you folks like my new sweater as she is the one who gave it to me for Christmas.

How do you two ladies keep your hair in good condition? I'm in between your ages and have hair the color of Ford's. I'm trying to let it grow longer but my ends keep getting "whispy".

What are your secrets?

I wash my hair with regular shampoo about twice a week. I use no other product. When it needs a cut (which it does right now), I put it in a ponytail around the middle of the back of my head, wet the ends just slightly to make sure I've caught them all, and then cut across horizontally as quickly as possible with a sharp scissor, usually take about an inch and a half off. I almost never blow dry it, but let it dry naturally and run my fingers through it to get the knots out. (I realize women who work can't do this, but I have nothing but time.)

If I am going out, I use the Calista Perfecta brush which takes about five-ten minutes, as I don't have a lot of thick hair. The RA has made my scalp very tender and sore so I do as little as possible.
