@smoochy, did you possibly get gas while you were there? My CC always has a pending charge of at least $100 regardless of actual cost of gas. And of course it falls off after a day or two.

When my husband was struggling with health issues, my shopping habits had to change, so ordering basic household needs from Sams and having home delivery was a lifesaver.

With local gas at $3.80-ish, I am still using Sams home delivery; free shipping with a $50+ order.  I am expecting 2 orders by Saturday.  I order heavy items (canned goods, detergent, trash bags, batteries, etc.) and have learned to do several smaller orders with multiple boxes, to avoid delivery of one huge box that is too heavy for the delivery driver and for me.

I am confident the free shipping on my frequent orders is a lot more than my yearly membership fee.

We signed up at Sam's Club a couple of years ago.  Just dropped in to see what it's like.  Ended up signing up but only because it cost $15.  We didn't renew.  Didn't buy much from Sam's.  Plus, at the time, renewal was $60.  Wasn't willing to pay $60, certainly not willing to pay $100 now.

@smoochy im so glad you posted this thread!

I have Sam's Plus membership.

I just checked. It expires tomorrow!

I just canceled my membership as the renewal is $120. I can still keep the credit card.

I am single and dont order from it enough to justify. Wants (love their chick salad and mediterranean salad) and needs are glaringly different for me these days. Im unemployed and need to cut back.

I need to get stuff delivered but since I have Amazon Prime ( $130!) and  Walmart Plus ( $99 a year) and have discovered Aldi's on my Instacart membership. ($99) ...Sam's is one too many now.

I will miss the rotisserie chicken ( arrrgh) and the Members Mark protein shakes but Ive not ordered either for at least 6 months just trying to cut back. If my status changes I may renew.

Thank you personally for saving me $120 and more as I may not have checked in time had you not posted. I didnt get an email informing me it expires tomorrow.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yup this is probably what it was. Most of my cards the gas amount at places just shows automatically but i have one card where it does the hold which is a crazy 100 bucks now.

we have sam's cc and get cash back, too. we have two cars and buy all our gas (and car washes) there, so usually get a good discount. we have costco, too, mainly for the roasted chicken and a few other things, i like.

@10sluvr

Have you tried Sam's rotisserie chicken?  It is as good if not better than Costco's was surprised.

Have been enjoying bakery items at Sam's too. We have both memberships and really like the choices.

we bought numerous shower and birthday cakes, always good. Costcos are good too. I just tried the sam's rotis chicken and it's equal but not better, to me. i'll get them again. Costco also has the rotis chicken, pre shredded, in pkgs. I get those for chix salad, etc.

I think that Sam's rotisserie chicken is better than Costco. We belong to both. And we are using Sam's free delivery more and more.

My son likes Monster Drinks 24/16 oz cans. The Sam's parking lot has a slight incline. I got tried of trying to keep the shopping chart by the car as I was lifting the cases to put in the car. Now Sam's delivers for free. And they are very well packaged.

Too bad we pass a Costco every day. Only seem to buy gas there.
