To know someone doesn't mean to know every detail of that
person's life. It means to feel affection, confidence and to
believe in that person. Lord, may I really know You and have
it reflect in how I treat others.

Scripture for the day:

"He has said, 'I will never leave you or forsake you.' So we can say
with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can
anyone do to me?'" ~Hebrews 13:5-6

Meditation for the day:

"I will never leave you or forsake you." Down through the centuries,
thousands have believed in God's constancy, tirelessness, and unfailing
love. God has love. Then forever we can be sure of God's love. God
has power. Then forever we can be sure;, in every difficulty and
temptation, of God's strength. God has patience. Then always there is
one who can never tire. God has understanding. Then always we can
understand and be understood. Unless we want God to go, God will never
leave us. God is always ready with the strength and power we need.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel that God's love will never fail. I pray that I
may have confidence in God's unfailing power.

Hello my friends! The family reunion is over - and Darla and Greg are on
their way back to Texas! They'll be back in 3 weeks for the Wedding. They
can't afford much time after the Wedding so have to go back home, I think
the day of the gift opening. They plan a cruise sometime in the future for
their honeymoon. It was so nice today having a great visit with them both.
After the reunion Lori took me shoe shopping for the Wedding, and I got my
shoes now - nice silver sandals with a little heal, and the cost was $22.00.
That was a blessing. After shopping Lori picked up Ollie and we played ball
here with him, and practiced his training which he's doing great! He now
knows how to leave it, when putting a treat on the floor, and saying "leave
it" he won't touch it until told to. Sammy does this well too. He learned
how to "Lie Down" , first sit, then lie down, and he learned to "drop it".
He does that well too.
In playing ball with us, he'll bring the ball and drop it in our laps - so
sweet!
Praying for all for your intentions, and thanks for praying for us. IT's so
reassuring to know someone is praying for you.

Prayer for Someone Special

May the grace and blessing of the Sacred Heart be with you,

The peace of the Sacred Heart encompass You;

The merits of the Sacred Heart plead for you;

The love of the Sacred Heart inflame you;

The sorrows of the Sacred Heart console you;

The zeal of the Sacred Heart animate you;

The virtues of the Sacred Heart shine forth in your word and work;

And may the joys of the beatific vision be your eternal reward. Amen

45 LESSONS OF LIFE
By Regina Brett
July 31, 2009

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland,
Ohio
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught
me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer
rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay cheque.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't s crew up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God
never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one
is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no
for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion, Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important s$x organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years,
will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you
did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,
we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

KNOWING MY WORTH
Author Unknown

"Each one of you is a Son of God because of your faith in Christ
Jesus" - Galatians 3:26

Even as a child, this counselee of mine did not receive enough praises
or encouragement from her parents and siblings. Only criticisms when
she erred. Naturally, her self-esteem was damaged. And it took its
toll in her married life.

Now, her husband gone to another woman, she lives as a single mother
to two kids and she is struggling to find a way to support them - both
materially and emotionally. In our sessions, I focused on her self-
esteem because I knew it was her low self-worth that made her repeat
harmful behavior patterns, which is her real problem. She has to
realize that she was a child of God. And this means she is loved.

The root of all codependency is a love hunger, which can be filled by
the Lord mainly.

That is why there is hope for those of us with a broken past. A good
grounding in the Lord will see us through.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
And I don't borrow from the sunshine
'Cause the skies might turn to gray.

And I don't worry about the future,
'Cause I know what Jesus said,
And today I'm gonna walk right beside him
'Cause he's the one who knows what is ahead.

There are things about tomorrow
That I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

And each step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb.
And every burden is getting lighter
And all the clouds, their silver line.

And, I'll bet the sun it's always shining
And no tears will ever dim the eye
And the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains, they touch the sky.

There are many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.
Yes I know who holds my hand.

Thank you Dear Father, for giving us this glorious day! Thank you, Dear
Father, for the many blessings you bring us each day, for food on our table,
and shelter over our heads. Thank you for the sunshine, the trees and the
beautiful blue sky. Thank you for our friends, family as well, and
especially your son Jesus who died for us on the cross.

Father, I come to you today to ask for your blessings, and to pray for my
friends both near and far, for Our Country, and Our people, for those who
are sick, or ailing, for those who are down for whatever reason, for those
who are happy, and for those who are sad after losing loved ones or just
leading unsaved lives. I ask you to take their hands and lead them towards
you instead of away from you.
Watch over them, protect them, and guide them. I ask these things in the
name of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Amen!
