I was reading an article about a HS Basketball coach who is just 23 years old. He works for a public school system as a Student Advocate and is also a coach. This is an exceptional young man who gives so much of himself to his players. In the article he states that sometimes he's overwhelmed because he will let the team members stay at his house because he doesn't want the streets to take over their lives.

I feel compelled to help this young man. I can send him gift cards from a grocery store, but I worry about send them to the school, I don't know if he'd get them. I've contacted the Detroit Piston's organization because they have a committee who recognizes leaders and maybe help them out in different ways. I've also contacted Stephen A Smith (my favorite ESPN analyst) hoping he knows a player or even himself, who would give him kudos for helping others.

Does anyone else here know what else I could do.? I'm at a loss. I will contact Meijer, a grocery store chain to see if they have a program in place to recognize outstanding individuals.
