It is being reported that the ship is free. However, there is no time frame for when the log jam will be moving. This is great news. Finally!

@Queen of shop :  Where is this being reported?  NYT and CNN still reporting that although the rudder is free the ship is stuck and don't think there's a possibility of movement until at least 9am E.T. tomorrow.  Additionally, there may be damage to bottom of canal where its been stuck so no idea when it'll be passable.  Syria is rationing gasoline until this is resolved.  That said, I hope you are right.

Current news is that it's partially freed.

Hi @patbz  Yes, by free, they mean the rudder. But that's still great news. At least that part is free. Egypt is 6 hours ahead of east coast time. So it's 6:20 am there. I guess we will have to see what happens in a few hours.

So awe inspiring what all the engineers, heavy equiptment operators and workers did to get some of the cargo ship freed up.

When they turn it to straighten it, I hope they get someone else to drive.

You think there are not pirates awaiting to loot it.

One of our local news anchors mentioned that we might experience some shortages because of it...She even mentioned shortages of toilet paper! LOL....I think she was just hyping up the news. I'm not ready to start scramming for toilet paper again!
