Success - Kitchen Remodel Update

First off I know the concerns on some who were leary about me using this company. Today I went to the 5 people I know who had work done by him and they were very pleased with the workmanship, neatness & their kitchens are beautiful. And they did pay him 95% down with no problem. (they did not use the kitchen designer I did - lucky them!)

I met with the owner today for 2 hours he was extremely grateful I sent him this letter as he is on job sites and once he does the estimate/etc. he leaves the selection process to the kitchen designer. The designer is a p/t lady who just started and was not aware of how his company does things... guess now she does! He is honoring my selections (based on the org. quote) - Cabinets - soft drawer return/soft hinge close, dove tail, all solid wood construction.

Granite - including the color I chose with a backsplash or either tile/granite (about $900), stainless steel sink/faucet ($300), all finishing paint, plumbing and electrical needed.

Here is the kitchen I'm replacing circa 1991 .../>

<img src=

This is the selections I'm deciding on:

The granite shown is my selection.

This is my dining room in creamy cottage style this is why I want to stay light -

/>

I will be having new hardwood oak floors or light beach oak put in within the next few months in the kitchen/ den area.

Thanks again everyone for encouraging me to stand my ground! They should start 11/2 - I'm doing the happy dance ... maybe not like David but the kitchen happy dance!

I'd be glad that issue was resolved!! I really like your selection of cabinets, that would be my style as well. Enjoy your new kitchen.

Congrats, glad to hear things are progressing now. At least they now know that you are not a push-over! BTW, I had a friend who remodeled her kitchen about 5 years ago and she didn't think to measure the depth of the cabinets and after they were installed, she realized they weren't deep enough to hold her giant dinner plates...she got new plates {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Hope it all works out and that you will post pics when you are done.
