Closed 2,000 stores.  Blimpies too and only has 100 stores in U.S.

Jersey Mikes was bought out in Jan 2025 by Blackstone and shrank its portions and customers not happy.

Subway was apparently bought out by Roark Capital in a multi billion dollar deal and Firehouse Subs to Restaurant Brands International for 1 billion.

Though these places were convenient it is considered processed food and not healthy.

@willowbark Agree with you I would never go to these places as I never eat processed cold cuts.  I didn't know Jersey Mike's was sold haven't seen commercials with

Danny DeVito in quite awhile LOL.  Maybe both franchises will eventually close.

@willowbark  We had Jersey Mike's one night last week and it seemed like the sizes were back to normal. We hesitated about ordering from them because the hoagies in  our last order (a couple of months ago) were smaller. Maybe they listened to their customers' complaints.

Last time, I bought subway  abt  2 or 3 yrs ago, the sandwich was all bread and expensive. Never been back.  Jersey Mike's  l and Fire House , if they  make sandwiches   with less meat, well not worth the price.

A deli meat sandwich is one food item I can make better than those chains. 🄹

Firehouse still maintains its original leadership.
The move was to have RBI assist in expanding and enhancing finances.

Firehouse provides grants for critical equipment and grants for local heroes.

The growth has grown internationally and the owners make sure RBI upholds the original values.

I cannot speak for the other food establishments.

Not sure where you live, but in the NY Trisatate area, the commercials are non stop.  They even added Eli Manning with Danny Devito now.

Never been to Jersey Mike's and have only been inside a Subway once just to buy a gift card.  Deli sandwiches are really not my kind of thing.   It feels like a waste of money when you can get what you need at the grocery store to make a huge sandwich if you are so inclined.

I like all the mentioned sandwich shops even though I don't eat there often.

Did notice the shrinking of sandwiches and increased prices though.

These places seem to "shoot themselves in the foot" and end up closing completely.
