I'm not sure what I make. I don't love the moistness of it in the bird, and I don't love the lack of turkey flavor in what I cook out of the bird but I like the slight crunch on the top. About ten years ago I started making both and mixing them together. My family loves it like that. Except my mother, she wants hers the consistency of porridge. All I know is I call it stuffing whether correct or not.

From WI here and we call it stuffing. In the bird and an extra bowl of it! YUM!

Important: if you add any fruits to it, you have ruined it and the whole Thanksgiving dinner for us. We will not touch it. Yuck!! LOL!

Dressing!!!

Grew up in suburban Washington, DC...in Maryland. My mom was from VA and always called it dressing.

Cook it outside of the turkey....it has always been my favorite part of the meal! Yum, yum!!!

I call it "dressing" but I stuff it into the turkey, lol!  As long as it's made with oysters, we're all happy here.  I'm New Orleans born and bred, and oyster dressing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving.

I'm from the North.... thought everyone called it stuffing if it's baked inside the bird & dressing if it's baked separately in a pan. The things you learn on here.

My family called it Filling, I just asked my husband what his family called it and he remembers calling it Filling too. Must be a regional thing for some.

Never put it in the turkey and still call is stuffing, I grew up in NYC
