Really? I'm from the north and south and we always called it stuffing.

Though at one time was on the Mason-Dixon line and we tend to get confused lol!

Can't really remember but I think she called it dressing. I do remember that she made it with a lot of butter! Edited to add, we are from the north.

dressing only and it is NEVER stuffed into the bird. (just south of the mason dixon line )

YES! it needs lots of butter and natural juices from the turkey and it should be nicely browned. such a basic dish but it has to be made just right.
