I’ve never known it to be anything other than stuffing, and it was always baked in a casserole dish. Regardless of what it’s called or how it’s prepared, I won’t eat it.

In our home in PA, it was filling, but stuffing was used too. Dressing..no way.

I'm in the South, there is a difference between dressing and stuffing.
And I'm not going to choose!

Dressing.

I live in the PA Dutch area and we have always called it filling. You know- we fill the turkey with filling! However, I don't put filling in the bird anymore because of news of illness from doing so.

Stuffing

I see stuffing and dressing as two different things. Stuffing, which is cooked inside the bird, is a loose mixture that you can fluff with a fork. However, I heard several years ago that stuffing should no longer be cooked inside the bird due to possible contamination issues.
Dressing is cooked in a pan and cannot be fluffed. As far as additions go, you can add whatever you want to either.
For me, it's dressing, preferably made with cornbread, not bread.

Or what I put on my salad.
