Re: 🤔Stuffing or Dressing

In or out of the bird, it’s dressing 🙂. I’m from the Midwest.

I agree with half of your statement.  It's better outside of the bird (I like the top a little crispy) but it's still STUFFING!!!!  Woman LOL LOL!! Woman LOL

LOL @faeriemoon

if it isnt STUFFED then why call it "stuffing?" Woman LOL Smiley Wink

i guess it all depends what you grew up calling it. i know it has been called 'dressing" in our family for at least a century, if not longer. i am from maryland.

@sunshine45   I know it makes no sense.  Back in the day we always had it in the bird and an additional casserole of "extra."  I've been in CT my whole life and you seldom hear "dressing" around here.

Since I've been doing Thanksgiving, I don't even put it in the bird.  Fewer issues with "doneness" and all that, plus, as I said I like the crispy top.  No one in my family has an opinion either way as long as it's on the table with the rest of the feast.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It was stuffing or filling.  Mom did in the turkey and did some outside.  I prefer done outside of turkey.

Re: 🤔Stuffing or Dressing

I grew up in the midwest and we always called it dressing, but we always prepared it in a casserole dish.  I think it is called stuffing if it is prepared in the bird.
