It was 6 in my area today and I found out that with the wind factor -25 to -35 below zero.  Tomorrow is a heat wave in the 20's and over the weekend one day will be 30 but then back to the teens on Monday.  Now it feels like winter.  This is the first cold and one with lots of snow winters we have had in a very long time.  This is for the Chicago area and suburbs.  Cat Very Happy  P.S.  When you all talk your weather, please let us know the area you live in. It's very cold today.  But temps are supposed to moderate starting Saturday for most of the country.  We'll be 60 by Sunday.  This artic blast was not supposed to linger.  Those winds are moving fast.

@Puzzle Piece

I bought my house brand new 15 years ago. I only used the heater a couple of times a year --- and then it went out. I called a heating company and they climbed into the attic to check the furnace --- and it needed a "mother-board". I told them to disconnect it. So - I don't have heat. This would have been a time to use it.

So glad the rain picked up last night --- I shut my sprinklers. Yes --- definitely needed.

Re: Strange Weather

[ Edited ]

We've been having, for the first time ever, temps in the 40s and 50s in December (!) and rain.  Smiley Sad

We did get a bit of snow a little while ago, but it has since broken up.

I never thought I'd see the day of having rain in December.     Over all the decades I've lived here it has always been too cold in Dec for rain.  But over the past 10 years or so we get less and less winter.  Makes me sad.

@Nightowlz

Been that way as far back as I can remember here in Nebraska. Dropping 40° in an hour is not that uncommon. Nothing "strange" here in our little part of our big country.

We had about 3 inches of snow last night and are expecting sleet today. I'd rather stick with the snow. Our temps can drop really fast too
