No check yet. Expecting a smaller check next month. The gov't will be getting it all back. 100% going toward quarterly taxes owed in July. I will take whatever comes my way. Every little bit toward tax payment helps.

In reading some of the replies on this thread, while it is being referred to as a stimulus check, that is not the actual name. There is no "right way" to use the proceeds. It is no one's business what the $ is used for. I don't understand why some here are telling others what to do with their check!  Please all- live your own

life and do not judge or live another's life!

Everyone can do whatever they want with the money, but the intent was made clear right from the start.  The purpose is to stimulate the economy.  (I don't care if people choose to save it rather than spend it, and I agree we shouldn't judge each other.   But posters who are saying it was not intended to be used to buy material things are incorrect)

From https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stimulus-check.asp :

What Is a Stimulus Check?

A stimulus check is a check sent to a taxpayer by the U.S. government. Stimulus checks are intended to stimulate the economy by providing consumers with some spending money. When taxpayers spend this money, it will boost consumption and drive revenues at retailers and manufacturers and, thus, spur the economy. Find out how the coronavirus stimulus bills affect you.

Give the 'get my payment' IRS page another try.

They did a system update last night and I was able to actually put in our information, pertaining to income, bank information, SS numbers all that stuff, whereas, before it just wouldn't let U do nothing.

Heads up folks !

I will never cease to be amazed!  I did not get a refund on my 2019 taxes, so my stimulus money since I get social security should have gone into my checking account as a direct deposit.  well, it didn't, I received a CHECK, today.  Surprise!!  Another surprise was a second check made payable to my husband who passed away in July 2019 and filed his income tax for 2019 and he did not get a refund and the return was marked DECEASED.  He last Social Security check was July 2019.  His check is actually made payable to John Smith, deceased, c/o Helen Smith!  You tell me this is not nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven´t received anything yet either, but was pleasantly surprised when I found some money in my account this morning that was transfered from a friend as a belated birthday present.

What a surprise.

Nothing yet here either. I am expecting direct deposit.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
