Re: Still Wearing Masks?

[ Edited ]

I stopped wearing them in 2020. Couldn't breath in them. I see very few people wearing a mask in Arizona. Trying wearing one when it's 100-115 outside. Ain't gonna happen. If someplace wants me to wear one they can give me one. Stopped carrying one ages ago. I went to a medical facility a couple of months ago and they had a sign on the door that said I needed one but no one said a word when I didn't put one on.

I am, but that is me.  I have been hospitalized 8 times in a years time.  I am a little weak, and my immune system is slightly compromised. I don't want to catch cold, flu, etc. not just Covid. I limit where I go and when.  However, the only mask recommendation an object to is the wearing of masks in Dr offices.  I think the drs can keep them off just put on when they see, patient, then toss

Yes, we still wear a mask when we go to doctors appointments. When we go to visit elderly friends at the elder care places they live. Just makes sense and is a good practice to keep them and ourselves safe.

In my area, about 60 percent are wearing them in stores, etc.

As far as outdoors, walking around in my neighborhood, I'd say that about 20 percent are still wearing masks.

I wear them everywhere.

We know several unrelated people who have contracted Covid.  Only one hospitalized, and doing just fine now.

I do believe it depends on our individual area(s)/neighborhoods.   People might be more careful when they know of others 'here and there' who have recently contracted Covid.

The important thing is to trust our intuition, and do whatever makes us feel more comfortable.

We wear masks only if requested to do so. Still wear them in the doctor's office.

Same here!  Once in a while I will see a few people in stores and then I am reminded of the last few years.

Oh Gosh, NO!  That mandate couldn't go away fast enough, if ya ask me. I still see people with them here and ther, which is there prerogative.  I shake my head when I see someone wearing one outdoors, though.  Again, their prerogative, but that makes no sense to me.

There are still a few places in my town that require masks. My biggest problem is that one of those places is the physical therapy office I visit, post knee replacement, where masks are still required. I have asthma so some of the activités they have me doing, e.g., warming up on an elliptical machine set at challenging tension, is hard to handle with a mask on

No. I ditched my mask a year ago. They aren't required anymore, even in medical facilities. Occasionally I see people wearing a mask, but almost nobody does.

They are still required in all of our hospitals and doctors offices etc.  Lots of people still wearing masks out and about.  I always have one in case i am in a store that is crowded.

Interesting that people are putting @Daisy Sunflower down for her opinion. I agree with her wholeheartedly.

I have a very rare disease that have killed many in my family, including my sister's firstborn at 10 months and my mother at 66.

There's only 1 hospital in my area for treatment. I needed specific tests done during that time and was denied because of COVID patients taking precedence.

As a result, I had a stroke and now my left side is partially paralyzed. It's also affected walking, left arm movement, confusion, and vision.

The reason I need to edit many of my posts. Sorry.
