My favorite author!

I just finished Mr Mercedes.

I think I heard The Shining is being re-made. Or was it The Stand?

Probably The Shining. He didn't like the movie. I didn't either.

The Shining has already been remade (it had the younger brother from the series Wings as Jack). It has to be the stand, that tv mini series was awful

Re: Steven King interview on the view

one of the best tv mini series, imho, was the 1979 Salem's Lot with David Soul. That was really great for TV!

I did like IT, but only the first 2 hours with the kids. It lost its steam when they focused on the kids as adults.

He was on one of the morning gabfests. Along with the movie, he also has a TV mini-series coming up--Big Driver.

I agree about Salem's Lot. It did the book justice and was very scary for TV.

I liked the film versions of Cujo, Christine and Misery too.

I loved Misery - also Dolores Claiborne. Christine is so underrated- I do like that one too. And of course, Stand By Me and Shawshank

yes! All of these.

They couldn't pick a better actor than Kathy Bates for Misery and Dolores Claiborne. She was stunning.

Re: Steven King interview on the view

I read Salem's Lot many years ago when it was first published. For years I could not have a window open at night - always had to be covered by drapes!!! Always those voices like glass chimes, whispering!

I did not care for "The Shining" the first time I saw Kubrick's version, but now I appreciate it for Kubrick's art. It isn't true to the book and King hated the film as well. The mini-series of Salem's Lot and Night Shift have been on cable recently.

Stephen King's short stories are amazing too. The story that really creeped me out was "the Boogeyman". There are others too - this one is in a collection titled "Night Shift". Highly recommend!

Storm of the Century was a favorite mini series by King.
