Start with One Happy Family ----

Subtract

40 hours without power

A neighbor's generator right under our bedroom window that sounds like it's in bed with us

Spoiled food - just after "stocking up"

1 snow blower that "dies" just before the biggest snowfall of the year

2 cars out of alignment because of pot hole damage

3 tires deflated due to above

2 wheel rims dented due to above

1 case of the flu (me) - I had a shot. Of course this was a strain the shot didn't cover

1 husband and wife sick in bed at the same time for Valentine's Day - DH has a bad, bad cold. DD just tried to stay away from both of us as much as possible!

Add

Good friends who care

Bed coverings to keep us warm at night

Warm furry kitties to keep us warm at night!

Those fantastic Candle Impression jars I've used for power outages since I first discovered QVC

Work and other places to get warm during the day

Time home to watch the Olympics - siince the power came back on

Equals ---

One Happy Family - a little rattled, but fine!

I guess it's not so bad after all! Wink BUT - is February over yet?????

We are counting our blessings and realizing so many people have it much worse. Hope all of you are coping OK with this wonderful WINTER! Smile

Re: Start with One Happy Family ----

Sorry to hear about your difficulties beach-mom. Life does seem to deal us more than we want at times, but it seems your pros outweigh your cons. You have warmth, a roof, loved ones, furbabies. The other things, while annoying, can be fixed or repaired eventually. Look on the bright side... February is a short month.

You have had your hands full....I hope things get a bit easier.

That flu is nasty....we are recovering at our house too...along with the snow.

Oh wow, beach-mom, what series of events. I hope you're both feeling much better now and I agree with you on the Candle Impressions candles. They're the best.

beach-mom .... sending warm hugs to you and your family. I know you need spring more than I do now. Blessings and hope you all get back to normal as soon as possible.

When we lost power for 16 days during Super Storm Sandy I lost 2 refrigerators full of food. Check your homeowners insurance. We were able to get $600.00

Thanks for your comforting words everyone! irishmama5 - I never would have thought to do that. We lose power a lot for some reason, winter AND summer. Right now, we're trying to figure out if we can somehow get reimbursed for the pot hole damage, but it doesn't look promising. I'm still trying to get back on my feet without feeling dizzy all of the time! But I'm hopeful - I DID make lunch late this afternoon! {#emotions_dlg.lol}
