I was reading an article about the latest SpaceX launch and it talked about Musk's Starlink project. Starlink is intended to be a fast, affordable satellite internet provider. I love the idea because there is no way this immediate area will ever get reliable, fast internet service, particularly at a reasonable price. However, Musk's plan includes 12,000 satellites!

There are already something like 1700+ active satellites and 2600+/- dead satellites in orbit. At what point is saturation reached and what kind of danger/impact to/on earth will result if there is a massive failure?

More and more "stuff" to think about every day.
