@hopi I could not agree more! Was staying with someone at Cleveland Clinic hospital, they had a Starbucks in their cafeteria. Worst coffee I ever had and expensive! The Staff at the hospital would form long lines at all shift changes. Never could u derstand what the big draw was, unless its the status symbol of carrying around a Starbucks coffee cup!

I never understood the big draw to Starbucks. It is very costly. I must admit I am not a big coffe drinker but I do love tea. You could buy a upscale coffee machine for what you spend at Starbucks.

I'm not a fan of their coffee, it always tastes harsh and burnt to me, and I don't care for the sweet coffee drinks. They're opening two new ones in my town, where there's already one in a grocery store, all within 10 miles of each other. Guess it depends on where you are. We have a couple of good local coffee shops in town so, when I get a need for this type drink, I'll always support them instead of the Starbucks chain.

Charbucks! Burnt coffee everywhere in the world. I am not surprised.

I don't frequent the actual stores, but I do buy Starbuck's products at the grocery store. I am ADDICTED to those small bottles of coffee frappucino, I must have one every afternoon at about 3:30. But, they have become SO expensive. I know they are filled with sugar, probably worse than a soda but it is my only vice.
I keep telling myself if they keep going up in price I will stop - cold turkey - so I am slowly preparing myself to draw the line somewhere.

@pdlinda wrote:@Sooner Yes, after all the "cost cutting" in the govt, I sat down and analyzed the hundreds of $$$ I'm spending on food each week. I realized I'm not that "big" of an eater, so WHERE IS ALL THIS $$$ GOING?? I broke it down and started eliminating different items (like very expensive nut-based yogurts, $11.00 "boutique"eggs and $7.00 squash) and realized I could do without them. I'm also more conscious of ordering items from Amazon (and the shopping channels) that catch my eye (like shoes) but stand a better than good chance of having to be returned. I'm keeping my grocery receipts (on my bank transcript) and already saved $56. this week with no noticeable affect on my overall satisfaction.
I'll buy the shoes and clothes and return them to avoid the stores, but the rest of your reply I agree with. The little things add up. It's not easy, I'm not a family of one person.

My area is saturated with Starbucks. We have three within 5 miles of eachother. Everytime I turn around another one is being built. I thought hmm, they must be doing really well to keep building them, I guess not.

I've never been one to go out to get a coffee in the morning. I've tried Starbucks and Dunkin's, Aroma Joe's but can make better at home. I don't see the need to go out to buy a cup of coffee. Plus, When you open so many stores so fast it is bound to get over saturated in no time.
