Sure he's jumping on. It's a calculated move on his part, he probably thinks it will help him get some votes from evangelicals.

He is so desperate to regain his in lead in Iowa that he will say anything to get the evangelical vote back. If Starbuck's makes money for him as a tenant, no way would he kick them out. Pandering at its lowest level.

This is a contrived controversy in an attempt to garner interest in a particular political party, and candidates who have very little connection to any religion are jumping on the bandwagon, one even promising he'll make them all say Merry Christmas. Since when does the government control what kind of packaging a business chooses, much less tell people they have to say a particular phrase. No one has told anyone they CAN'T use a phrase, and a business that tries to keep things all encompassing is just showing their inclusiveness of their customers. Much ado about nothing, AS USUAL We are NOT a theocracy.

By the way, the colors red and green traditionally used during the XMas season are also of Pagan origin. Holly wreaths were used in the Winter Solstice celebration.
As a proud descendant of Celtic Pagans, I say "you're welcome to borrow our traditions for your celebration. A red cup is fine for me".

Red Solo Cup (let's have a party!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMEtqj2Fa4s
Now a red solo cup is the best receptacle
For barbecues tailgates fairs and festivals
And you sir do not have a pair of testicles
If you prefer drinking from glass
A red solos cup is cheap and disposable
And in fourteen years they are decomposable
And unlike my home they are not fore-closable
Freddie Mac can kiss my as$$ woo
Red solo cup I fill you up
Let's have a party let's have a party
I love you red solo cup I lift you up
Proceed to party proceed to party
Now I really love how your easy to stack
But I really hate how your easy to crack
'Cause when beer runs down the front of my back
Well that my friends is quite yucky
But I have to admit that the ladies get smitten
Admiring how sharply my first name is written
On you with a sharpie when I get to hittin'
On them to help me get lucky
Now I've seen you in blue and I've seen you in yellow
But only you red will do for this fellow
'Cause you are the Abbot to my Costello
And you are the fruit to my loom
Red solo cup you're more than just plastic
You're more than amazing you're more than fantastic
And believe me that I'm not the least bit sarcastic
When I look at you and say
Red solo cup, you're not just a cup. (No, no, God no)
You're my, you're my friend. (Friend, friend, friend, life long)
Thank you for being my friend.

So just who decided that these companies are "anti-Christmas", anyway? Did the companies actually come out and say that they are against that holiday, or did someone else put the label on them?
What a load of kwap .... IMO.

Scots/English Celt weighing in here. Christmas trees, Santa in various incarnations, yule logs and wassail are all pagan in origin.

why? What is so wrong with a simple red & green cup?
next thing ya know, people will demand the mermaid needs to go (as she is a pagan symbol)
Maybe people should read about this logo.
