Standardized Tests

Interesting Article about a mother who opted out of having her kids take standardized tests.

I've heard lots of concern about standardized tests over the years - they are not fair, cause kids stress, don't measure what they claim to measure, etc.

What do you think? And if they shouldn't be used, what is the substitute?

Currently such tests are used not only for NCLB, but for college admission, military admission and promotions, admission to the bar, etc. etc.

What should be the replacement?
