I am watching one of those shows on HGTV where they stage a home for a sale. The house had cracked bricks on the front and some lack of mortar so they filled in what could be seen from the sidewalk with caulk and then painted it brick color to camouflage it. Obviously , they did not actually repair it and they purposely cover up something that is a defect in the house.
I think it is morally wrong to fix the surface appearance of a defect and sell the house unless it is put into the report that this was done. This brick obviously needs an expensive repointing. Opinions?
