Several weeks ago, reels started popping up on Facebook of parents or adults hunting for squishies in various stores. My favorite ones to watch were the ones that hunted for squishy dumplings. They can be found in most box stores but most people were hunting for them at five below. It was fun watching them open The dumpling container to see what color they got and or if they got the viral one that was hard to come by.

I kind of got caught up in the fun and went to five below but they didn't have any. I ended up ordering one from Amazon but I think it was a dupe of the original and authentic makers of the dumplings. It was an ugly really light aqua color and I ended up giving it to a niece. Her parents told me that she has friends parents who will go to Walmart and other places and leave at 5:00 in the morning to go look for them and will take my niece along.

@JeanLouiseFinch Thanks to social media clowns, kids this year are putting specifically the NEEDOH's (they are THE thing this year) in the microwave. They are not saying the brand in these articles, and I am not sure why, but I saw it on (I think) the American Pedi. Assoc. social media or some other similar institution.

Had to have a conversation about it with a young family member, who gave me side eye and said the whole thing was so idiotic; why would she waste her toy on that dumb dangerous "experiment". Had to give her credit for the response, but some other kids out there are very easily persuaded to try something seen on Youtube and TikTok and no one told them it was dangerous.

I really have a very hard time with these "influencers" not being held accountable for stupid dangerous stuff like this, when they know exactly who their demographic is. It cannot always be on the parent or guardian. Kids find a way, or another kid shows them the video.
