Re: Sprint vs verizon

[ Edited ]

@Ditzydori -

Unless you want to pay a lot and get very little for it there is no reason to have a contract plan. Seriously, I'm surprised anyone still does a contract for their cell phones.

There are lots of good, inexpensive no-contract phone plans. I have used maybe 3-4 different no-contract, unlimited everything plans. Do a little research to see which no-contract plans/providers are available near you.

I have used Straight Talk with my own iPhone for a few years now. It is just $45 per month, no contract. As long as I pay online or buy a card at WalMart & add it before my 30 days are up my service continues. I am happy with my service so I stay with ST. I've had no problems at all.

I wouldn't ever even consider using Sprint or Verizon - based solely on what I've heard about the experience of friends and relatives who have used those services.

When we lived in Pa we had Verizon for everything - cable tv , phone, internet and cell phones and never had any issues with them.

I am in southern WV.   My cell phone is on my teacher daughters plan; after many years of being a Sprint customer, she switched us to AT&T last spring.   She never had a problem with Sprint as far as billing or customer service, but had no cell service at school, or in that neighborhood, as well as other areas in the state she traveled to with her team when coaching.   Since it didn't seem to be something Sprint could resolve, finding a new provider was the answer to the problem.

My trucker daughter has Verizon, and carries my husbands cell on her account.   She has no problem with service when she travels, and runs to the west coast every week.   The only problem my husband experienced with Verizon was due to an outdated phone.

I think I'll stick my T-Mobile.  I left Verizon for their awful coverage in the largest city in the US and I haven't looked back.

I have Verizon.

It's got the best coverage for where I live.  I've had T-Mobile and also Virgin Mobile in the past.  Neither had as good coverage.

My bill isn't that outrageous (I don't think.)  It's about $80/month.

We have Verizon and not happy at all with them. The last bill was 200.00. I called and was on the phone for hours with them. They are not good to deal with. We have one phone, fios package. Told I wanted a lower bill and what could I do. I no longer have public tv, and less Chanel's. Nothing I miss. The bill is now 171.00. I still think it is too high. Spent 51/2 hours on the phone talking to different people. All afternoon! Was tired and not that satisfied. I may call back again. Your numbers are better than mine. One man I could not understand and had to wait for another one. He did not speak well at all. Was he in the US?
