@Kachina624 wrote:@BlueFinch I believe the Wicks have out-of-town guests. They are NE of San Antonio; were there tornadoes in that area? They seem to be worse than usual in Texas this year.
@Kachina624 Yeah, I know she has guests, but she's still been posting, so I was keeping a watch for her. I'm not sure if her location was hit, but it may have been. I think I heard her area mentioned on the news at one point, but didn't get details.
NE of SA had some bad areas. Austin, Round Rock, and several of the smaller little towns had damage. This storm chain worked it's way across TX, except W, where we needed it for fires second to severe drought. It left TX, but was still fueled up, hitting states from SE to NE causing further damage. Powerful storm system.

We, our guests, and both puppies are okay. Thanks for thinking of us. We got about 1.5 inches of rain. Round Rock is north of Austin, and they took the brunt 😪

The NE corridor of I-35 always seems to get the worst of storms. Then they continue on into Texarkana and onto Louisiana where NO was hit fiercely.
We only had a few "booms" and some rain, which is always needed.
One death reported.
The upflow from the Gulf feeds the storms, too.

Thank you for your concern, although we got lots of tornado watch warnings, thankfully the storms and tornadoes didnt hit the San Antonio area. Sadly, the storms did hit parts of Central and East Texas, especially the Austin and College Station area, there was damage to buildings in the Austin suburbs Round Rock, Crockett, and Elgin areas, and 5 tornadoes hit the North Texas area.......One survivor was able to find her kitten that had been missing for 24 hours.....
Areas in North Texas and those near the Oklahoma border especially around Wichita Falls area are susceptible to tornadoes....

@Cakers3 You're right. We've learned where to expect the storms to be fierce. This storm system did surprise some, since it just kept on full strength, from central through NE TX, then hitting neighboring states with a vengeance. I thought it would slow down some, but it just wouldn't give up. It was what they call: 'The perfect storm.'
As the videos keep coming in (even today) showing damages, across TX and beyond, it's almost unbelievable that there weren't many casualties. That's much to be grateful for, but many have a lot ahead of them to rebuild their lives. It's always so sad.
