My heart goes out to all of the people who have lost loved ones because of the recent tornadoes in several states.  The weather reporters here in Mo had been reporting last week that severe weather was coming to the St. Louis area with possible tornadoes. We didn't get any yesterday but some surrounding areas had warnings and it got close. We only had some rain and high winds. I have been stressed about the weather for the last 2 weekends. Last Saturday my power and internet went out due to tree damage and it stayed off until late Sunday. With the threat of storms and possible tornadoes yesterday I packed a bag with my essentials and was ready to go to the basement of my apartment building. They are now talking 80 degrees next Tuesday with the possibility of severe weather again. Spring has Sprung ! I hope this change of season gets better.

I went through a tornado warning an hour ago. The noise of hailstones hitting my skylights was deafening, but so far no cracks or leaks. The line of storms is now passing offshore into the ocean.

Terrifically windy in the mid-atlantic right now.  Earlier today I thought we could be in a tornado path and now in the darkness, I can't tell by the color of the sky but the wind is howling.

The power is still on but I wouldn't be surprised at an outage.  It seems to be all in the upper atmosphere.  My wind chimes aren't even chiming.

We are lucky here in the north east.  It seems like the poorest of communities always get hit the hardest.  Why is that?  Just awful for those poor people.

I hope that anyone reading this that was affected by the tornadoes are all okay.  It is painful to see the pictures of the devastation on the news.  Here in Philly, a section of the city was in a sector, one of those red squares they show on TV, for a tornado warning.  It is very unusual, very rare, in this area.  I admit I was terrified.  But this is not about me.  I pray that those that were hit will be strong and survive the physical and emotional trauma.

@bargainsgirl Because tornadoes spawn out here in the states that are poor states with lots of poor people who live in small wood frame homes and trailers.

And they hit in other states not so familiar with severe weather and without local news stations who are up to the minute, have the best radar and tracker teams and helicopters monitoring the storms.  Sometimes it's all that is on local stations for 8 hours or more.  No regular programming.
