Documentary-style report by Chet Huntley of Spring Break 1962.
Amazing how clean-cut and well-spoken these kids were, unbelievable that they were already getting a bad rap for going to Florida for a week of sun.
I have only seen movies like "Where the Boys Are" - they filmed and interviewed real college students in Daytona Beach. Looks like it was alot of fun...doing the twist, sunbathing and making new friends. 2-piece or 1-piece swimssuits, no bikinis. Lots of Capri pants and crisp white shirts!
I guess their parents were born around 1920, raised in the Depression, so they couldn't deal with the new generation!
