Annie is gone. I had to put her down last week. I'm very sad about losing her. She was a good dog, 15 yo.

I burn a soy candle, or even quicker to get rid of lingering food smells, after you have finished eating, use a wax melt. They work fast and have immediate scent.
My husband doesn't like too many spray air fresheners, because he said they smell too artificial, but we do use Febreeze once in a while..

I don't use those sprays. I open a window and I use the vent or exhaust fan over the stove.

@SeaMaiden The witch hazel helps the oil and water to blend together. . You can use rubbing alcohol, too.
If your tap water works fine, that's ok. Some tap water can have "off odors" you may not smell right away. It can also contain chlorine, etc.
Distilled water has contaminants and minerals removed.
I used distilled water for other things, too.

Instead of using spray air fresheners that probably contain a LOT of chemicals, OPEN your windows for FRESH air.

I simmer orange peels.
Or lemon peels.
Or Cinnamon sticks with a few cloves.
I like the orange peels the best!
I suppose one could use a crock pot, and keep it on Low all day long......

Oh, wait........I suppose we can let the simmered orange peels' water cool down and use that orange scented water in a spray bottle.......

@ROMARY Orange peels have an oil called limonene. Boiling the peel from one orange and 1 cup of water for 15 min. then cool. Pour into a spray bottle.
This would be used as a cleaning spray on surfaces. The spray will be good for about a month.
You'll get the orange scent as you clean but it wouldn't be sprayed in the air as a freshener.
