Spotted First Xmas Tree Tonight

Our neighbors have their tree all lit up. Looks a little silly this early. I wonder if they just try to be the first every year.

Maybe they just enjoy their Christmas tree? I put mine up last we ekend. It's not all decorated yet, just the lights. Mine has clear (white) lights. It gets dark before five now, and it's nice to come home to a pretty sparkling tree.

Re: Spotted First Xmas Tree Tonight

When my husband and I got married....36 years ago...I couldn't wait to put up our first Christmas tree. We put it up on December 1 and can still remember all of the comments that we received about it being up so early. Now, no one would think twice. How things change, lol.

For me, this is still early because I like my Fall decor to be up for Thanksgiving.

Re: Spotted First Xmas Tree Tonight

I have a neighbor who has turned on their outside lights, and have a great looking lighted snowman on the porch. I need to ask where they got that snowman... it's one of the best I've ever seen and even looks great in the daytime unlit. I've always wanted one for my yard... I love snow and we almost never get it, so if I can't have a real one, why not? I'm starting to get out my decorations this weekend to see if I need anything (I'm pretty sure I don't Smile), and then I'll get started in the next few days. I love Christmas decorations and would leave them up all year round, but someone might call the men in the white coats!{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I have a pretty built in set of shelves in my LR, and Christmas ornaments live there all year 'round. No one who sees them seems to object.

Re: Spotted First Xmas Tree Tonight

I love seeing all the Christmas decorations! I have several trees I put up throughout my home. Last week I put up the first one. It's a special little white tree. About a couple of weeks from now I'll have the time to get out the rest of my decorations, including the two big trees I have. I just love to see it all. For me, it's very cheerful and relaxing to see the tree lights (multi color). I don't care if people think it's too early. I enjoy it. I also work out of town for several days at a time, so I want to enjoy it when I am home. As far as decorations outside, they'll go up on December 1st. I'm not a Halloween or Thanksgiving fan and don't decorate for those times.
